One day in Atlanta

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

If you've read our previous posts, you'll know that Atlanta was the next stop on our East Coast road trip following a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. We only had one full day in Atlanta but we had a great time exploring the places we did see!

We arrived later on Monday night so really just had time to unpack. This is one of the best Airbnb's I have ever stayed in because the hosts made it such a great experience. They were accommodating with our dog who isn't dog friendly with others, they provided a pancake bar, and the studio was just so cute!

Atlanta is a pretty large city and we were able to experience a few different areas that are all different.

We aren't really into a lot of tourist activities so in the morning of our one day stay there we decided to disc golf! The course was in a nice park, it was super close to our Airbnb and was a great way to spend time outside in the warmer weather.

In the afternoon we went to some breweries! We went up to the northern end of Atlanta to Scofflaw Brewing. They're located in an industrial area and had a large outdoor space for us to hang out with our pups. Their beer was so good we ended up getting two flights.

After Scofflaw, we went to Best End Brewing which is in the up and coming area of the West End. This was in a neat location right on the Beltline. I unfortunately forgot to take any pictures! Their outdoor space was dog friendly and they weren't doing flights but we got two different pints: a cherry stout and a sour.

Then it was time to get ready for baseball! Our main reason for going to Atlanta was to check off another baseball stadium in our quest to visit every stadium in the country.

We got there a little early to walk around to see the different displays, including the World Series trophy.

This stadium is pretty new so it was really nice. We always get the cheapest seats or standing tickets and then we sit at one of the bar tops closer to the field.

And that was the end of our trip to Atlanta! We packed up the next morning to head to our next stop: Smoky Mountain National Park!
